Satellite Image Deliverables: What You Get with Every SkyFi Order

Know what you’re getting before you place your order

When you task a satellite or purchase archive imagery, it’s important to understand the satellite image deliverables you’ll receive. SkyFi includes a standard set of file types and data to meet both technical and non-technical needs.

You can check deliverable formats before placing your order at app.skyfi.com.

Standard Satellite Image Deliverables

Each image delivery includes:

  • 16-bit TIFF: A high-resolution file suitable for GIS and analysis workflows
  • PNG: A compressed version for easy viewing or presentations
  • Metadata file: Contains time of capture, sensor details, and geolocation

By default, SkyFi provides all optical imagery as 4-band and orthorectified, unless you specify otherwise during checkout.

After your order completes, you can access these satellite image deliverables directly from your dashboard.

File Access and Download

Once your image is ready, SkyFi delivers it in a ZIP folder. You can download the file at any time from your dashboard. The system stores all files in your SkyFi account, and you can access them through your order history.

Most orders arrive within 24 hours, depending on sensor availability and cloud coverage.

You can monitor image status and download your ZIP file at app.skyfi.com.

How to Use Satellite Image Deliverables

Each file serves a specific purpose:

  • Use the TIFF for mapping, spatial analysis, and processing in software like QGIS or ArcGIS
  • Use the PNG for visual reviews, documentation, and non-technical presentations
  • Use the metadata file to verify capture time, coordinates, and technical details

If you need to share results internally or prepare a client report, this mix of formats supports typical workflows across different teams.

Once you complete your first tasking order, you can view sample file types from your dashboard.
